I deeply love and respect all those who have served including my young cousin Darin Stephen Dyle who died at age 27 from complications of an immunization he received in the Corp. My husband Anthony, also a Marine served in peacetime. I can’t imagine the bravery of all Marines, just thank God they are there (past and present).

A great day/year to be a Marine.I escaped the U.S. Army in 1966
by joining the Corps. One of the best decisions I"ve made.I can"t
imagen waking up in the morning and saying yes I was in the
Army or Navy or heavens forbid the Air Force.
For you newbies or young Marines you have a proud tradition
to uphold and I"m sure you will with honor.Enjoy your life and
stick out that chest.

Sgt. Grit,
I served as a heavy equipment operator (30 Ton Drott Hydraulic Crane) MOS 1345, in Okinawa, Japan. I was stationed at Camp Foster in the 3rd Landing Support Battalion from May 1980 to August 1981. We wore the red patches on our covers and utilities. I think this unit has (obviously) been changed or has merged? I can’t find this unit on the Marine Corps website “Units” search engine. Just curious to find brothers and sisters I was stationed with. Also, do you have a unit decal? Thank You.
Corporal William H. “CPL T” or “Billy T” Tholborn, Jr.

I am seeking those Marines and anchor clankers (B. Peterson, Art Munoz-cooks) who served aboard the USS ALAMO LSD33 as part of BLT 2/4 (Hotel 3/12) Opperation Linebacker II. 1972. Also seeking Marines stationed at Camp Hague, Okinawa, Jan 1972-Jan 1973, Camp Fuji ‘72, MCAS Beaufort (cooks) 1973-75. Would be great to hear if you are still kick’n around, and tell some tall tails of heroic deeds, great parties, smokers on the flight deck (and safety nets) etc.

In 1969-1970 I served in country with Comm Co/H&S BN/1st Mar Div on Hill 55, then later I was sent out into the bush with Golf Co 2/7 until my return to CoNus Sept. 5th, 1970.
I have been in contact with members of G Co but no one knows what ribbons we can display. Can you help? It seems no one has thought to have this done for us, instead I am sent a display board of all the ribbons ever made and told to pick out what we earned…this does not help!
But if you can it would help me…before I fade away!

I have been trying, with no luck, in remembering my Parris Island, SC platoon number and or retriving my graduation Picture, It was for November, of 1960. (A long time ago).
My Drill Instructors name was Staff Sargent Gallagher. I also had a Brother in the same Platoon who has since passed away. Our DI used to us Chuletta 1 (Porkchop 1) for my brother and Chuletta 2 (Porkchop 2) for me. Pvt. M. Santiago and A. Santiago.
For the life of me, I can not recall my Platoon number. If any of you Marines out there can help me, I would be grateful.
Semper FI.
