Our reason for posting on this forum was to bring attention to the great work and services Hopes and Dreams Inc. a 501C (3) charity is providing to our wounded warriors, all veterans and active duty military personnel.

My intent is not to put you or your organization down, however US vets have had a lot of resourses redirected into many peoples pockets. Your raffle says ” ...In the event that we do not reach our goal of 5,000 donations for this Fund raiser by the drawing date the winner will receive a Grand Prize equal to 20% of the net drawing proceeds and 20% of the net proceeds will go to Hopes and Dreams Inc….” who gets the remainding 60 percent?

You may be a lcc in georgia but does that give you 501 status?
Even after you’ve incorporated, obtaining federal tax-exempt status is a critical step in forming a nonprofit organization. Most of the real benefits of being a nonprofit flow from your 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, such as the tax-deductibility of donations, access to grant money, and income and property tax exemptions. (For general information on forming a nonprofit corporation, read Nolo’s article How to Form a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation.)
HAVE YOU REGISTERED WITH THE IRS AS A CHARITY?

Dear Sir/Madam,
Americans Helping Americans is a for profit company dedicated to raising funds for charities.. I am going tell you exactly who the founder is. The owner of Americans Helping Americans is Patricia A. Burch. A 70 year old woman who lives on social security, who’s sons and husband served in three wars trying to do a good thing helping all those who have served and are still serving.
The IRS info is available to who ever calls.
This is an invitation to all, 229-375-1895 Please call Mrs. Burch and be involved helping our fellow Americans. Accept this as an invitation to visit the facilities at Hopes and Dreams. You might want to thank her for her hard work .
The body count is going up at home! These troops are suffering. We lost 11 service men at Moody AFB already in 2012. Hopes and Dreams provides all services free of charge to all branches of the military.

Mrs. Burch,
Don’t take this as an attack. WE, Marines do what our political parties refuse to do in this day and age. We vet organizations and we self police. Pass the test and you are in the very place your organization needs to be. If it is on the up and up, you have nothing to worry about. Remember, Marines brawl with each other for fun.

When you started this forum item you stated you were a charity with irs benefits, that would leave people who donate. believe that they can deduct their contributions from their taxes. Now you are a for profit llc of Georgia run By a little old lady. Do you think someone might question your credibility?
Secretary of State records say your organization was dissolved in 2010 are these records in error?

the question remains unanswered

Art Downs wrote——Dear Sir/Madam,
Americans Helping Americans is a for profit company dedicated to raising funds for charities..———SO,HOW MUCH DO YOU KEEP AND HOW MUCH ACTUALLY GOES TO THE CHARITY?
There is the problem. Times are tough all around. My wife and I recently received a phone call from a cancer organization asking for donations. My wife said she would send something and the lady on the phone was pleased and jotted down the amount my wife told her we would give.
After my wife mentioned this to me, I said exactly who are we donating to. We went on line and found out that it was basically a call center asking for donations. The actual amount of the donation that would go to cancer was 10%, yes 10% the other 90% went to the call center to pay for the people on the phones and expenses. So, when someone states they employ people, it could very well be a call center paying themselves…...
Marines on this site have been bit a few times, so we are not too free with writing checks to everyone that comes here…..
My wife and I only donate to the organizations that we know first hand.

the winner will get 20 percent of the net , not the gross take.
.
Some how i do not feel i will be welcome when i visit them and ask to look at their books.

Wow,what response, I think it is wonderful. Apparently some have missed the reason for all the effort Patricia Burch has put in to helping our veterans and active duty service personnel.
No it is not a brand new Motor Home, it is a one owner in great condition, and more high grade electronics that you could not buy for ten bucks.Besides being garage kept, new tires ($1,800.00) New A/C unit ($1,200.00) Don’t forget the rebuilt 454 and tranny. Add that to the figures. Tha’ts another wow for a whole ten dollars!!! Don’t forget the 4K generator that purr’s just like the running gear,32” Sylvania Flat panel TV , Flat panel TV in the master bedroom, I think you have the point?
I think we should get to the point: Mike Randall, the founder of Hopes and Dreams Inc. also known as Hopes and Dreams Riding Facility. For the people that don’t know about horse therapy for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Go to http://www.americanshelping.com and the page heading OUR VETERANS and be informed.
Being involved with Mike Randall and Patricia Burch is an honor, I’ve never met more passionate dedicated individuals that are doing a good thing. They are true Americans giving back to our troops that have given so much.
To address the question about monies. Everything Mrs.Burch is providing in the hope she will help the veterans and active duty troops is so wonderful, but as a management, marketing professional
she is not doing this for financial gain. Whatever she makes goes to expenses helping veterans, the homeless and children.
Open invitation to all veterans and active troops, free of charge. Come out and visit ,spend a few days
Call me at (229) 375-1895 I would like to introduce you to this 70 year young at heart wonderful lady.
Thank you all,

Why are you not listed by the irs as a charity?
Why is your business listed by the valdoata chamber of commerce as an advertising business rather then a charity?
Why not a direct answer to a direct question?
IS THIS THE SAME MOTOR HOME?
News 12 @ 11 o’clock—February 18, 2009
AUGUSTA, Ga.—- “Violin for cash or furniture, I’ll take a nice violin,” said Art Downs who trades on Craigslist.com.
Art Downs spends most of his days bartering and trading on the popular website Craigslist. He says now with this sour economy, people still have needs, but they just can’t pay.
“People don’t have money. They don’t have any money. Everybody’s broke, but they have assets,” said Art.
Assets and services that other people need and may not be able to afford otherwise.
Thanks to Craigslist, at the click of a button, you can get what you need, through a trade. For instance, one man is willing to trade a truck, a tractor or a golf cart for a septic tank installation. And art, he’s willing to trade this antique sword for something, or maybe a medieval breast-plate. But his biggest trade sits in his front yard.
“Yea, I used Craigslist to get the motor home. Everything, straight up trade,” said Art.
That’s right, Art used the website and bartered to get his new home.
“This is a perfect example. This motor home right here. I had a 2007 Ford Taurus and the people didn’t have the money to buy it. Ok, he wanted me to trade for the motor home and we swapped out evenly,” said Art.
It’s an even trade that more people are logging onto and checking out to see what they can get for their stuff.
“We do business, we barter and everybody’s happy. I’ve gotten what I need so we’re all happy,” said Art.
And with everything up for barter in his old home, Art will continue to log on to trade out.
As Art and his wife prepare to move, they plan to have an estate sale of all the items they don’t trade.

J,
All this reminds me of a time many years ago when I worked in a factory in the 70’s. One employee would sell 100 tickets for $5 each and raffle off his 2 week pay check. At the time, we were earning about $5 an hour as well, 5 X 80= $400 before taxes. He was running a pretty good gig if you look at it. I asked him why he did this, and he said he didn’t want to work overtime to make the extra money….....
He finally left, mainly because it was a dirty place to work, allot of us left for that reason and the rotating shifts..
