Just as the war affected each person in a different way, our goal is to provide a variety of events which will allow each veteran to feel comfortable in whatever way they choose to participate. Additional Info: Headquarters Company 9th Marines Vietnam Veterans has been gathering for fellowship and remembrance every two years since 2005.
We rotate between 'left coast', 'right coast' and 'central'. this years rally point will be in San Antonio, TX. for our fellowship.
We have presently are in contact with about 130 former Marines and Corpsmen that served with Hq Co 9th Marines in Vietnam from 1964 through 1969 (when the Regiment rotated out) and also from several that returned in 1975 as part of the evacuation.
If you served with our company we would like to hear from you and hopefully put you in contact with some that you served with during your 'tour of duty'. You are also invited to be a part of our reunion in San Antonio this year. Please contact me for additional information for making reservations with the hotel.
Plans are still in the making but so far we have planned a visit to the "Wounded Marine Regiment" at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. We have been invited to take part with the local Alamo Detachment 315, Marine Corps League's weekly "Taco Thursday' to serve and fellowship with our wounded warriors.
We have also reserved San Antonio's Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park for Saturday September 19, 2015 for a memorial service. Plans are coming together for this but it appears that the local Marine Corps Reserve unit of H&S Company 4th Recon Battalion will send a Color Guard as a part of that remembrance.
