We have presently are in contact with about 130 former Marines and Corpsmen that served with Hq Co 9th Marines in Vietnam from 1964 through 1969 (when the Regiment rotated out) and also from several that returned in 1975 as part of the evacuation.
If you served with our company we would like to hear from you and hopefully put you in contact with some that you served with during your 'tour of duty'. You are also invited to be a part of our reunion in San Antonio this year. Please contact me for additional information for making reservations with the hotel.
Plans are still in the making but so far we have planned a visit to the "Wounded Marine Regiment" at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. We have been invited to take part with the local Alamo Detachment 315, Marine Corps League's weekly "Taco Thursday' to serve and fellowship with our wounded warriors.
We have also reserved San Antonio's Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park for Saturday September 19, 2015 for a memorial service. Plans are coming together for this but it appears that the local Marine Corps Reserve unit of H&S Company 4th Recon Battalion will send a Color Guard as a part of that remembrance.
Please take time to visit our website (www.hqco9thmarines.com). We have used this website as a tool to help locate our men as well as to preserve our company's 'tour of duty' in Vietnam.
