I was on finger one of 55, ‘67-‘68. The bridge was called the Golden Gate Bridge, Liberty Bridge was further down Liberty Road near An Hoa - the first leg of Liberty Road off 55 was called ambush row - ambush alley, etc. There were a lot of mines on that road… snipers also. I wrote a book 7-8 years back about 55’s history - it took 15 years and a lot of research - no computer. There are still a few copies on Amazon and Alibris (maybe). Anyway it is a book of the good bad and ugly events of 55 like the bunker at the water point being over run and weaposn taken. There is a lot about the attacks on 55. Anyway Semper Fi - I am still in touch with 3 of my partners.
