Midnight Radio Watch
This picture was taken in the field in Italy near Naples January 86.
Pictured left to right are Cpl Bob"Mannix" Maniscalco, Cpl Carlos "Little Juan" Torres, LCpl Steve "Shit Kicker" Tuey, and me Cpl Howard Cooper.
It was certainly cold that night. Our taxi, the Guadalcanal (LPH-7) was docked in Naples. Soon after this picture was taken we got the news the Challenger had exploded during liftoff. It's like do you remember where you were when Kennedy was shot, when Elvis died, when the Berlin Wall fell, and September 11th, 2001. If you guys see this drop me a line.

Libby,
How are you man Semper Fi.
I was there with you at Gitmo. We had to take the Ferry across to mainside.
Yes we had to walk those we had along the fence. I was on Post 1 one night and the mosquitoes ate me up.
Remember the day when one of our guys got killed in the barracks, while we were playing cards. The guy was cleaning his rifle, but still had a round in the chamber and squeezed the trigger and the round went through his neck and he died on the way to the hospital. The Helicopter lifted him there, but he did not make it.
Remember going to Puerto Rico for Christmas and to St Thomas for New Year.
Where are you now. I am in Georgia currently.
Let me hear from you.

Thanks for responding Ed, real nice to hear from you and surprised also.
You were not from Maine when you enlisted. Why am I thinking you were from Florida.
Didn’t they make a mistake with our orders and sent us to Clarksville Tenn, a Naval Base there inside Fort Campbell. We had to turn around go back to Lejune.
Have to research that.
