GREEN FINGER

If a person has a natural high acidity level in their skin, it is possible for the finger to "turn green" from silver or gold jewelry, especially when the weather is hot and humid. Please don’t blame silver or a manufacture of silver jewelry. The green is actually caused by oxidation, and all silver will oxidize (it's also what gives silver a tarnished look). There are some cheap jewelry items that cause the same effect. Most of them contain nickel or high amounts of copper. It's not poisonous in small quantities but it can provoke a reaction in people allergic to nickel or copper. Most American manufactures do not use nickel.

This "green finger effect" may also be an allergic reaction to alloy elements in sterling silver or gold. In some cases, the alloys, used to make jewelry more durable, may react with your body chemistry, causing a harmless green or black discoloration on the skin, which can be easily removed with soap and water. For this reason, silver jewelry and white gold jewelry can be plated with rhodium, which serves as a defensive barrier and prevents this reaction from happening to anyone with allergy. The rhodium will wear off over time and will need to be re-plated. Another reason may be lotions, soap or chemicals that come into contact with your skin on an everyday basis. Keep your finger dry the moisture usually turns your finger white.

If a person has this allergic reaction, we would recommend that you buy rings that are rhodium plated. It is durable and gives silver a bright sheen look. Another solution is to clean your silver jewelry as often as possible with a polishing cloth and wipe with a clean dry cloth afterward to remove the polishing residue. After about a week or two, the reaction should stop occurring.

Awesome! Review by ROMAN
Overall

My wife and I recently re-exchanged our wedding vows. This time we had these awesome wedding rings which were blessed by our Pastor. A great value for a beautiful set of rings. We had our original wedding date and our initials engraved inside the rings. Don't have to worry as her birthday and our anniversary are on our Corps birthday! OoooRaaahhh

absolutely blown away !!! Review by Ric
Overall

I ordered a matching pair for us and we intend to use them as wedding rings. They are beautiful!! The emblem is a little small on her ring but her finger is small. Fit perfectly. I could not be more satisfied with them. We are taking them in for engraving. I've had hiccups with some things but on this, out of the park home run.
