IRAQI SOLDIER
Tamala Young

They said it was time
So he had to go,
Why he's fighting
Not many know.

He answered the call
Left family and friends behind,
Now he's in the thick of it
What goes through his mind?

He calls home
Says "Everything's fine".
Mom can tell
That's just a line.

Mom can hear
The terror in his voice,
He'd be at home
If he had a choice.

Mass Destruction?
This war is wrong!
Mom AND her soldier
Try to stay strong.

I can't imagine
What he's going through.
Prayer, e-mail, care packages
What more can I do?

To lift his spirits
I'll send a letter,
I try my best
Gotta make it better!

Bush sent him in
Whether wrong or right,
Uncle Sam he obeys
He's there to fight.

Fighting for freedom
For you and for me,
Giving of himself
Pride for his Country.

SOLDIER, STAY BRAVE
STAY STRONG, STAY TRUE,
I LOVE, I RESPECT
AND SALUTE YOU!

Love Mom
