I got this one on Viet Nam in 1963.
Since them I have over the years tested positive for Hepititus "C", Hepititus "B" and T.B., follow up tests have shown I only have the Anti-bodies for them. I belive it was the tattoo shop where I picked them up. My wife loves the Tattoo.

First Moto Tat

Good evening Sgt. I've been coming to your site even before I enlisted, mainly because I stumbled across it looking up tattoo's online. Anyways while I was home on christmas leave I decided to get my first moto tat and I thought I would share it with you. I got it done at South Texas Tattoo Studio in my hometown of Aransas Pass, TX and I love the way it came out. On a side note thanks for making such an awesome site and all your support, take care and Semper Fi.

My Marine Corps Tattoo

Sgt. Grit,
After years of not having a Marine Corps Tattoo, not that I didn't want one, because like most of the Marines out of boot camp that got one, I did not. It was the whole "oh look it's a boot with a fresh 'beat me up I'm a boot'" that I never got one. Now that I am more mature and every bit of proud to claim the TITLE OF MARINE, I finally got the one I wanted! I hope other Devil Dogs love it as much as me!

My Tattoo

Sgt. Grit,

It took me quite a few years to determine what I wanted as a USMC tattoo. I served my country for over 4 years and was honorably discharged after breaking my back in two places. The one thing that I loved about the Corps was the ability to shoot. I earned my 4th Award Expert badge so this tattoo was fitting.

Always Faithful Tattoo

Always Faithful Tattoo

Always faithful. Krysta Neidert. December 20, 2007.

I'm not in the Marines, nor will I probably ever join, but I am the daughter of a Marine, as well as an ex-girlfriend of a Marine. Growing up around plenty of Marines, I finally decided one day recently to show my pride of being in a family of a Marine as well as supporting my friends, my father, and my ex-boyfriend. My 'always faithful' tattoo shows everyone my love for Marines, the support I have for them, and a motto I have lived by since the moment I found out the meaning of 'Semper Fidelis.'

NCO Tattoo Artist Holds Standard

There is a Marine in Twentynine Palms Califoria who wanted to do more than design the tattoos for his brothers. After seeing the quality of work and hearing the prices that the shops were charging he decided it was time to take matters into his own hands. He found the best shop with the best work and atmosphere and took a chance on asking for a job.

Thats how a Corporal started to work at Pair "A'' Dice Tattooz in July of 2006. After the red tape and warnings from his chain of command this marine started tattooing Marines and the civilans who came into the shop. He quickly built a name for himself as a good artist who was willing to take what little free time he has to create the tattoo his clients were after.

With the new restrictions on tattoos one would think that there were less tattoos to be done. That is however not the case. The rules were unclear to some and that is why the owner of the shop" Digger Dan Kunz" printed out the order and posted it throughout their shop. This was not an attempt to talk Marines to push the linits on their tattos but to allow them a full understanding of the rules so that they can make the choice themselves. That is where it gets tricky for an artist who is held to a higher standard. Does he do a tattoo that could get this Marine in trouble as well as himself, or does he try and give his client what they wand and still cover both involved. That is why he has the ever growing client list he has. He does amazing work and keeps to the standards.

Marine Wife Tattoo

The Tattoo In Honor of My Husband

My Husband is in Iraq right now. About two months before we were getting married we found out. I had always wanted a tattoo. I looked at tons of pictures trying to get ideas before hand. But when I got that news I knew right then what I wanted. They had already mobilized to Lejuene and I hadn't got it yet. He knew I was planning on get another tattoo but he didn't know what or WHERE. Sooooo when I stepped off the plane that was almost the first thing he asked me. We hadn't seen each other in about a month and a half. He absolutly loves it. His fire team thinks it is the coolest thing in the world. Miller's wife has a motto tat. He gets picked on a lot cause he doesn't have a Motto tat. He says he is getting one as soon as he gets home though. He better!

Marine Wife Tattoo

Marine Wife Tattoo

My husband is currently a lance corporal with 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines (out of Camp Lejeune) serving in Iraq right now. We are high school sweethearts, and got married in March, while I was still finishing high school. In May, I graduated, and then moved with him to North Carolina. The day we moved into our apartment, he took me for a ride around Jacksonville, and surprised me with the opportunity to get the tattoo that a friend of mine helped me draw up. Being "Semper Fi" to each other has always been an important thing for us, and I couldn't let him get all the fun moto tats! So anyway, Sgt. Grit, here is my tattoo! It is on my right shoulder.

HMM 165 Tattoo

New Tattoo

I took my Marine husband for his Birthday Present. He designed his own tattoo a few years ago but we never did anything with it until now. He served with the "White Knights" HMM 165. The knight's head on the aft pylon is the only markings that they had on the helicopters while HMM 165 was in Viet Nam. It was the result of flying into Cambodia and I think it was Operation Shiny Brass. Flying Korean Marines into Cambodia before anyone else was aware they were there in 1967.

Happy Birthday to My Wonderful Husband

Thought I would share.

Sgt. Grit,
I get your news letter every week & I enjoy seeing pictures of the tattoos the Marines get, and reading their stories. So I am attaching a picture of my boyfriends left leg. He got his upper left leg branded…did I mention that he did it himself? His name is Hugh Smith and he was in the Marines 1999-2005. I have never seen someone with anything like this. He also has a tattoo of the eagle globe and anchor , that one covers his whole upper right leg. I will have to get a picture of that one and send it into you as well.

I also just want to say thanks for putting out such a great news letter, I really enjoy reading it!
God Bless the Marines.

Here is my first tattoo I got to show support for my son and I wanted him to know how proud I am of him.
