Tattoos for the Marine
I just wanted to drop you this note. I have been trying to find the right tattoo artist that could fix my tribal band and turn it into an incredible Marine Corps Tattoo. I have been looking for about 10 years for the right artist. In Pittsburgh PA I found such an artist. His name is Cliff and is the owner of Angry Moon Tattoo.. www.angrymoontattoo.com Here is the before and after.

This one is getting faded. I got it in 1963 in Viet Nam. I served 4 years. |
Desert Storm and Emblem Tattoo
I finally got my Marine Corps tattoo, although it is 20 years after that fact. Decided on a old school style and my artist modified and improved on a Sailor Jerry drawing to make it more original. I also served with US Army Special Ops, after the Corps as well and wanted to include this Desert Storm tattoo that incorporated my unit patch and flash. Semper Fi, Jeff Squire |

Hello Sgt. Grit, |
EGA Tattoo SubmissionAttached is my first moto tat. I wanted an EGA, but the standard one is pretty boring, in my opinion. So, here's the custom one I had done. I'll send in my next one when I graduate EOD school in 2 months. |
After 23 years I did it.
I always wanted a Bulldog USMC tattoo while I was in and never got .Well I finally did it. One of the proudest moments in my life was becoming a Marine and I wanted to show it forever. Semper Fi and Once a Marine Always Marine

EGA Tattoo
Upon returning stateside (San Francisco) in 1966 from my 1st tour of duty off the coast of vietnam with the Marine Detachment aboard USS Enterprise, I got a tattoo of a bulldog with U.S.M.C. on either side. I always regretted not getting an EGA and now forty-two years later I finally got one to cover that faded and almost unrecognizable bulldog.

USMC TAT
I have been retired from the Marine Corps since 2000 and just got another motto tat last winter. It was an add-on to an older tribal, but the guys at the tatoo shop designed this!!! My other eagle, flag and "semper fi" tat is still being worked on. As soon as its complete, I will have it on for all to see!! Semper Fi and God Speed.

My EGAThis is the EGA I decided to get this past weekend. I loved the shirt on Grit with the greek letters and the quote, "brotherhood of the world's greatest fraternity" and decided that could be the little something different in mine. |

My life's turning pointI got out in 1992 and have never found a tattoo that signified what the corps has given me. So after years of searching I made one. following the statement " You can take the Marine out of the Corps but you can never take the Corps out of the Marine". |

Cpl. Tabb's Memorial Tattoo
I am a Marine until I die and am proud to say that I've served with some of the finest young men and women this country has to offer. I am sending you this photo of one of my newest tattoos. I have an Eagle, Globe and Anchor on my chest, but this one is more important to me.

Marine Corps Tattoo
I got this for my fallen brothers in the first attack of Fallujah. |
Finally got it...
I proudly served from 1972-1986. I left the Corps and became a police officer in Orlando which I have done for 22 years. Thing is, the Corps never left me. Finally got my Marine Corps tattoo last month.

1st Marine Tattoo
I finally did it I went out and got my Marine tattoo. I wanted one when I was active duty but never got one. I got out in 1974 after 10 years of service. So at 61 yrs old I seen one on your web page and decided that that was the one that I wanted. I truly think that getting a Marine Tattoo should be something that happens when you graduate from boot camp. I have changed it a little bit from what I found on your site to make it my own. Would you please put it on your web site for me.

I wanted to share my tattoo
I have to admit i took the idea from another wife who had the idea first. My tattoo is a paragraph from a letter my husband wrote me while he was deployed to Iraq. We found out i was pregnant 3 weeks after he deployed. He made it hope 5 days before our first child was born! The tattoo is in his hand writing it says "I think about you every minute and cant stop thinking about being in your arms again and i cant wait to feel the baby i love you so much"
I wanted to get the tattoo so i had something to show from the deployment we survived. Attached is a picture of the tattoo and me and my husband at the airport when he came home last year just in time for our sons birth.

USMC TattooThis is my second tattoo. It's the back of my left calf. I had it done about a month after I turned 18 right outside of MCRD San Diego. |
Teufel Hunden Tattoo
This tattoo was just done last night by Mike "Doc" May, who owns the "Derma Design" tattoo studio in Port Richey, Florida. This is my 3rd Marine tattoo. The basic concept of the shield, devil dog, and "Teufel Hunden" lettering came from a design that I saw on a t-shirt. I changed the design to my liking by making the devil dog really look like a hound from hell, adding flames inside the shield, adding skulls on both sides of the shield, the lower half of a skull at the bottom of the shield, "0311" at the bottom of the shield, and some custom USMC lettering underneath it all. Still to be added is a concertina wire band connecting the USMC lettering, more detail in the skulls (including the top two skulls fading into smoke at the top of my arm), and the eyes of the dog will be red. I put a lot of thought into this tattoo, hope you all like it. Semper Fi.

Meat Tags
This is my first tattoo, and I wasn't sure before I got them, but now I don't know what it was like without them. I got the USMC in a Roman font for the Roman Legions. The meat tags are for the reason that every grunt gets them, and the Bible verses are some that have meant a great deal to me at turning points in my life.

DYNAMITE |
Blood Stripe Tattoo
I got this one shortly after I became a Corporal of Marines, I plan to have extend down my right side after we get a new tattoo policy, here's hoping so I can finish it. The reason I got it on my ribs instead of on my leg was because I heard it was one of the more painful places to get a tattoo. It was worth it and I love it.

My Tattoo
I wanted to send a picture of my tattoo for you all to see and maybe put up on your site. I spent 14 years in the United States Marine Corps and very proud of it. Here is a picture of my work which was done at a place in San Diego called Superfly Tattoos. The artist Quinn did an awsome job and he is the only one that i will trust to do any of my work.

Brothers Forever
Thought some folks might get a kick out of my Marine brother's and my new tat. We meet in boot camp when at about 2am he (without saying a word) handed me a packet of syrup and a saltine cracker (he had appropriated during mess and maintance). We stuck together during MCT and in "A" school at Memphis (Millington, TN). He went west coast and I east cost. We did meet again briefly in NC when his duty station changed, but we were both married and had kids. Years after we went back to civilian life I (working in computers) started looking him up after a few months and phone calls I found him. We helped each other out with everything from 2am hunger pains to family deaths and failing marriages. He is my brother, and I can always count on him. Here are a couple picture of our matching tattoos.

Bulldog USMC Tattoo
I first went to a tattoo shop in Okinawa in 1967 when I was a PFC, but I backed out from getting a tattoo.
Here it is 41 years later and I finally got my USMC tattoo and am as proud of it now as I would have been then.

Eagle, Globe and Anchor Cross Tattoo
I got this tattoo shortly after my EAS. I love it because it incorporates my faith, heritage and pride in the corps all in one. Planning my next one right now. |
5/10 Pain By Steel Rain
Here's a tat that I got many years after getting out of the Corps.

Tattoo for your consideration
I was in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1990 - 1996, activated during Operation Desert Storm. I've been involved in the Young Marine Program, the Marine Corps League and the Military Order of the Devil Dogs. (I am the first female Devil Dog in Maryland). I have four other tattoos, but never went for the USMC until last week. I had my boy Brendon at Flaming Dice draw up a couple of designs and I went with the "old school" EGA. Hope everyone enjoys it!
