Future Marines
Sgt. Grit: attached is a picture of my three kids - all wearing temporary tattoos ordered from your website. My 13-year-old son, Wyatt, is PFC in the Treasure Valley Young Marines. When he graduates high school he wants to enlist to become a warrior. Casi and Morgan (both 4 1/2) are very proud of their big brother (as am I). Thanks for all you do!

Runs in the family
Picture #1

El Paso Young Marines have a lot to be proud of. Former Young Marine, SgtMaj Medina (Diego) recently graduated from boot camp on October 4, 2008 & was named the Honor Man. He is now at Camp Pendelton for his MCT. Little brother Andy wanted one thing for his recent 17th birthday: to be taken to the Recruiter's office. Andy is now a Poolee & will leave for boot camp in June 2009. Dad Freddy, is a Marine & is also the XO for the El Paso Young Marines.
Picture #2
From left to right: Freddy-Marine-YM XO-Father (notice the great shirt purchased from Sgt Grit!) and Diego-Marine-Son
Celebrating the tradition in the Medina Family, from El Paso, TX, in joining the greatest fighting force in the world, Father Freddy decided to congratulate Son Diego's recent earned title of Marine by buying him a tattoo. In fact, the same tattoo Freddy himself had put on when he earned his title of Marine, back in the 80s, will also be the same tattoo he'll again buy for his other son Andy, who recently became a Poolee. When Andy completes boot camp in September 2009, father & son will take a trip to the tattoo shop to memoralize the greatest title ever earned: MARINE.

Moto Tattoo and family pictures
The tat,
My husband is Sgt Todd Bost he is currently serving as a Range Coach with Weapons and Field Training here at Parris Island. (His MOS is Com Field radio op) When he got out of boot he wanted to make his commitment to his Family, Country and Corps just a little more permanent than words that are uttered or written on paper. That is where his Rebel flag, (now redneck~which sums us up too as we are into big Chevy Pickup trucks, muddin, 4wheeling, fishing and so on), His American flag is for the love of his Country and his Corps flag represents who he is and his pride in being a Marine.
The pic of the little man in the "Marine shirt" is my youngest Zachary. This is Todd's step- son, but you'd never know it the way they act.
And there is also a photo of us at our wedding in 2007, at Camp Pendleton Ca.
Thanks so much

Marine and Marine Wife Tattoos
Dear Sgt. Grit (and readers),
My husband, Nathaniel, is a fairly new Marine. He enlisted in February and headed to MCRD San Diego on March 24th. He graduated at the end of June, finished MCT in August, and is currently in classes to become an MP. I am SO proud of him for choosing to serve our country & I am especially proud of him for being a Marine. I am so proud in fact, that at his halfway point of boot camp (around his 23rd birthday) I got my first tattoo. It's on my right shoulder blade and says "SEMPER FIDELIS". During his 10 day leave he got his first tattoo and had "USMC" put on his back. I am known as a VERY moto wife. My cars are covered in Marine Corps magnets, my keys have USMC keychains, I often wear Marine t-shirts, and I even carry the local recruiter's cards with me. (He recruited my husband & has been wonderful! I often thank SSgt. Hardin for his faith in my husband.) As of November 10th we'll have been married for two years and will be stationed in December. (That's right, the USMC birthday, though that was accidental or prophetic- depending on how you look at it.) I just wanted to share with everyone our motivation and love of the Corps. Thanks for all the great stories & products! My in-laws LOVED their anniversary gifts. I included a picture of us together, and our tattoos. Oorah & Semper Fi, guys!
Proud to be a Marine Wife,
~Torey R.

Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and Dog Tags tattoo
Hey Sgt. Grit,
I met my husband while serving in the Marines. We got married a couple of months after I got honorably discharged. That was in 2003. Now it is 2008 and I decided to get a tattoo to show how proud I am of him and the way we met. He is still active duty and we just had our first child. Its funny how things work out! Well anyway's I definitely got Semper Fidelis on it, because it not only is the Marine Corps motto, but I believe it applies to marriages as well. Happy Birthday Sgt. Q. I love you!

I recently got a tattoo
My brother is in the Marines and I recently got a tattoo honoring him and all he's done for our country.
The tattoo feature's the Marine globe with eagle and anchor and in the banner that the eagle is holding, I put my brother's initials and it is colored Blue and Purple which as far as I know are the colors for the awareness ribbon for Thyroid Cancer. My brother was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer while he was in the marines and so I wanted to honor that as well. If you can't read it, the dog's color says, "Teufel Hunden" : )

We're high school sweethearts and enduring our first deployment together. He's and 0311... OOH RAH! And I wouldn't have life any other way :)

Eagle Claw, EGA, and USA Flag tattoo
Sgt Grit,
I was looking at the tattoo section and wanted to email you and
add my husband if you don't mind. My husband always said he
would never get a tattoo. That was until about 5 months before
retirement. He came home and said I have a design and I am going
to get a tattoo. I almost fell over for he said he would never
get one. So I wanted to share it on your site if possible.
He served proudly from 1983-2003. He misses the USMC on certain
things. But most of all he misses it in his heart. Like they say
"Once A Marine Always A Marine". If you look closely you will
see the EGA in the grips of the eagle claw along with the
American Flag. This tattoo has a lot of memories only he can
tell. I am so proud of my Marine Husband.
" SEMPER FI "

Many years too Late!
I have been putting off getting a tattoo for many years. I have always wanted one but couldn’t find the right one. I had an Artist in Midland, MI, Black Ball Tattoo, draw up an idea that I had been kicking around and this is what he came up with. This is what I waited over 33 years to get. And I could not be happier. This is just the beginning. Can’t be lopsided so I have to figure out what to put on the other arm now!

My Tattoo
Hi Sgt.!
Sending you MY tattoo. It's not very original, but I love it. I served on active duty from 1996 'till 2001 and then 'till 2005 in the reserves (3531 - Motor T!!!). Got the tattoo after I got my dd-214 in 2001. Proud to be a Marine - the better days of my life. For the tattoo I pulled the EGA from the dress blues' cover.

USMC Tat with crucifix
I had the “USMC” originally done in San Diego in 1975 while on leave from ITS. To say the least it was a bit faded, so recently I had the USMC filled in and had the crucifix added. GOD, Country, Corps-OOOOOOO-RAH!
I had the EGA with "United States Marine Corps" added to my left arm to present a balanced dedication to the Marine Corps. I explain to people that you serve in the other branches of the U. S. Military but once you graduate from Marine Corps boot camp, you are a Marine for life. I was on active duty, in the reserves and inactive reserves from 1975 to 1986. Now at 51, I still PT on a daily basis and proudly greet any Marine I encounter with a firm handshake and a greeting of "Semper Fi Brother." I am extremely proud to be a lifetime member of the greatest Brotherhood in the world.

Thanks
I recently lost my father who served in Vietnam as a Marine from 1969 through 1972. He some how lost his dog tags along the way (story was that his sister thought it would be "cool" to wear them and lost them). So last year from the holidays I reprinted a set.
On March 26th my father passed away - they say from a cancer he contracted from his exposure to Agent Orange.
I gave the tags to one of my brothers and just went on your site to print two extra sets, one for me and the other for my youngest brother.
While on your site I noticed the tattoo section and thought I would share mine with you.
Thank you for the wonderful website and all the great products. Semper Fi. Amanda

LCPL William D. Spencer
Hi, our son LCPL William (Billy) Spencer was killed in Iraq on
December 28, 2006, he was going after his squad leader, to pull
him out of the street after he had been shot, Billy was also
shot by the same sniper, so was the young man that went after
Billy, Billy was our youngest child, 20 when he was killed, so
to my point, everyone in the family has tattoos, all 6 of us,
except my husband, who was never to crazy about the idea, I had
a few before we married still didn't care for them now is
different, he went with the rest of us and this is a picture of
after sitting for about 6 hours what he came out with! He is a
changed man, of course, but now everywhere he goes our son is
sure to go too! a little peace is what he now has. We are so
proud of our son, our hero, that I thought you would like to see
him to, we know you are proud of all our soldiers and our
heroes, so we just wanted to share.
Thank You
Gold Star Mom

USMC Regroup Tattoo
Sgt. Grit i found your website on a internet banner. i was looking through the volumes of tattoos and liked a lot of them. It also said that i could send a pic of my usmc tattoo, so that what i have decided to do. there is pic of my usmc tat attached to this e-mail. the story behind is as follows
I got this tat in november of 2005 when i was in SOI. i come from a long history of marines in my family and they all had a usmc tat. i am the first one in two family generations to join the marine corps or the military in general. so i got the tat to signifie my passion for the corps and the infantry. anyone who has been a grunt or knows someone who is a grunt will understand the tat.
thank you for time sgt.grit greatly appreciated.

USMC Tattoo
Five years in the Corp came and went in 1980. I had a great tour, saw a lot of the world, met a lot of great Marines, and as a result of my Marine experience I've been teaching children for over 17 years. What better present could I give myself but a tattoo to show my pride in being one the world's finest. Even at 50 years I still feel like a Marine. Semper Fi my friends.
