I was with Hotel 3/11 when we landed in Nov. 65. We were a 105mm battery then, Gunny Randall, and Ssgt. Whitehead were the only two of all of us that had ever seen combat. And they say it in Korea . Landed with silver certificates in our pockets ! We stood on the bridge of an LSD all night long and watched the Navy light up the shore. We didn’t think anybody would be left buy the time we got there. We were wrong !

There are at least five battalions in the 11th Marines. It may help if you knew what battery you were in. I think there were four batteries per battalion, you just add it up.
