3rd Bn Huts

3rd Bn Huts

I enclosed a photo, don’t remember who took it, or where the camera came from, the day we “finished” P.I. 29 December 1958. No graduation, etc. Note the 3rd Bn huts… I’m in the middle of the photo, the handsome, squared away one…

Will always remember hearing Sgt Baggett yelling “347”, we screamed the reply “347”, then “GET OUTSIDE!”

I guess Im the young one, Plt 395 3rd Battalion Oct – Dec 1973. I called Parris Island to purchase for one of the bricks from the OLD 3rd Battalion barracks. Was told there’s a year long list for a brick. So you 3rd Batttalion Marines if you want a brick you need to call the museum and get on the list. How times have changed. Semper Fi.

Bill, I was in Plt.189 ,June/Sept. 1956 3rd bat. Noted in the picture you submitted that the door behind the leading Marine has been reworked. Now what can you think could have been going on behind that door at some point that required it to be reworked? Some p olitical correctness maybe? Or did PC exist back then? G
