Heartbreak Ridge

In responce to a newsletter May 21st about the making of the movie "Heartbreak Ridge". I was also in VMGR 352, and was in the welcome home crowd sceens used in the closing of the movie. As I remember, it took just about all day to film that final 5 minutes of the movie.

At the time of fliming I was a GYSGT and the NCOIC of the AVIONICS shop. Shortly after that I made MSGT and was transfered to HMM 166, and the movie used some of our CH46's in the movie as well.

I think the GYSGT Peterson was actualy SSGT Patterson and was in my Avionics shop and was flight crew as well.
