It'a a Calling...

It'a a Calling...

I would absolutely go back in The Corps., if given the opportunity, with no hesitation whatsoever — or, in a ‘heartbeat,’ as the previous Marine proudly proclaimed. I stopped watching anything NFL long before the present-day activism we are seeing now. Only back then, I’d began seeing certain political positions the NFL (now the NBA it seems) were taking off the field, which I didn’t agree with, but now it’s bleeding over into the games themselves — out of control, in my opinion. A former (always) Marine, I served from ’81 to ’87. I was part of the ‘Reagan Buildup’ of the military during the Cold War. I had eagerly enlisted right out of high school. Only then, we viewed it as ‘uncertain times,’ what with Iran (after the American hostage release) on the move, and with Russia massively building up it’s military during the Carter years (President Carter). So I do see a certain parallel with today’s world climate. I knew I wanted to be a Marine as a little kid growing up in the late ’60s/early ’70s, because at that time, my uncle was a Recon Marine. He was KIA in Vietnam in ’68. My oldest brother had gone off to bootcamp that same year, and later went to Vietnam to serve two tours. He received two purple hearts and later came home in ’75. During the time I was in, I was a special operator (8151) in El Salvador and Nicaragua. However, my hats off are always to the Maines of WWII and Vietnam..! So yes, I’d definitely serve again for my Country..!!

Semper Fi brother! I stopped watching all NFL games last year after my idiot, asshole hometown Ravens knelt for our National Anthem, but stood for Britain’s” at the game over in England. Have not watched a game since and don’t intend to start back up. I don’t miss it either! But, what a waste of a college “education” – those pinheads know NOTHING about history or what a great life they have here in America. It’s nothing more than an opportunity to thumb their collective noses at the majority of the people who watch and support the game – which are the people they truly hate, because they know most of us love our country, our flag and our military and they respect none of the three. They know their actions will piss off middle class America and THAT is their only goal. Most of the pinheaded, morons kneeling would be drug-dealing thugs back home in the hood if they were not making millions playing a child’s game. Oh well – only in America! I love this great country and I would gladly serve her all over again. I can’t speak for any other veteran, but I did not join the Marines to fight for the freedom to speak like an idiot and to act like an unpatriotic jerk, but I joined the Marines because I love my country. We are not perfect – no one or no thing is, but together, those of us who band together to protect and love our country – we as a group are the greatest in the world. And for that – those kneeling, unpatriotic morons should kiss our asses!

AND A SAYING I SEEN IT GOES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED FOR IT, FREEDOM HAS A TASTE THAT THE PROTECTED WILL NEVER KNOW
