Members of Marine Corps League, Det. 1140, Tehama/Red Bluff, interviewed Roy Ford today on February 25, 2015. Mr. Ford is doing well. Several of us in our detachment spent some time with him recenlty, including today, to listen to him tell a few memories on Iwo Jima.
He spoke about his mom, how he was treated while still on active duty waiting to ETS and after he got out and how the VA treated him then and now.
Roy is very modest and tries to remember friends who made it through the battles of Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Iwo Jima.
We will continue this story soon as we need to make sure our facts are straight and how he remembers the battles he participated in and led.
We want to do this right for Roy. Thanks for your patience.
Semper Fidelis,
