They would get salty looking , but your ass ,armpits , and junk would get a rash that was ungodly, from salt residue.

I WAS AT CAMP HAGUE FROM 1957-1958. I WAS IN 155mm HOWITZERS. IWAS IN QUANSET HUTS IN THE BACK OF THE BASE. I WENT ON LIBERTY IN BC. SOMETIMES I WOULD TAKE A TAXI OR GO BY BUS (WHICH WAS ONLY A FEW YEN) SOMETIMES I WOULD WALK. GOING PAST A HIGH SCHOOL AND A GRAVEYARD. I SPENT MANY A WEEK-END WITH THE KIDS ON THE ROOF OF THE HIGH SCHOOL. ON BASE (AT THE EM CLUB) IT COST 25 CENTS FOR A BOTTLE OF ASAHI BEER. IN TOWN IT COST 100 YEN, BUT YOU GOT TO SIT WITH GIRLS AND LISTEN TO A GIRL PLAYING 45’S ON A RECORD PLAYER. (PLENTY OF GOOD TIMES) (I MADE CORPORAL AFTER 2 YEARS, BUT GOT BUSTED BACK TO PFC A WEEK LATER) WE HAD NO LANCE CORPORAL AT THE TIME. GIVE ME YELL AND WE CAN TALK MORE.

Where is/was Camp Hague? Started with E-2-12 (105s) at Camp McNair near Fuji-Yoshida in March of ’55 in squad tents with 1st Cavalry artillery doggies, they had self-propelled 8 inch stuff. We Marines hated them BASTARDS, they would run and duck inside closest tent at first note of “Attention, prior to Colors”, while we would snap-to, then face and salute the flag with only a wet towel to cover our manhood Then in summer of ’55 off to Camp Napunja on Okinawa in Niessan (?)Huts, sorta like Quonset but with huts with vertical side walls, an OLD Army camp, post WWII. Seems to me the nearest town was also Yoshida.. And what the hell is “BC”? And I aint got the foggiest idea of where the 3rd Battalion was Holed-up. I remember seeing their guns ’55-Hows somewhere but never the men. guess I should have joined the MCL when I was young and attended meetings regularly.
