THE WALL

THE WALL

<p category which is contained in your BS page of 8th and I Marines shining the brass base plate of the flag pole by the Vietnam Veteran Memorial (The Wall). As an old Hospital Corpsman I felt shame that the Navy section of the base plate was tarnished. So I recruited my brother, another Corpsman, to travel down to D.C. at zero dark thirty Saturday, 14 JUL 01, and went to work on the Navy section of the base plate. We took care of the Marine section as well. Given our ties with the Corps, we felt it appropriate to give the 8th and I guys a day off. I have attached pics of this evolution and would appreciate it if you would post them your in your next newsletter so that our fellow Corpsman and Marines see that we also understand the meaning of Pride. Thanking you in advance, Rich Huelbig HM2 Greg Huelbig HM3
