Capt. William W. Putney, VMD authored “Always Faithful” regarding the Marine War Dogs in WWII. this is a must-read for anyone interested in War Dogs. Capt. Putney trained, deployed, fought with, and repatriated over 500 Dogs that were going to be put down. In addition, Capt. Putney was instrumental in dedicating a cemetery for fallen War Dogs.
