Description

Keep your dress blues in good repair with blood stripes from SGT GRIT.

A Marine may retire or be honorably discharged, but they never stop being a Marine. Occasionally they will be called to wear their dress blues, and it is that Marine's responsibility to keep those important garments presentable.

A critical component of a Marine's dress uniform, the blood stripes down the outside of trouser legs are one of several ways to identify an officer. At 1 ½ inches wide, this width designates officers below the general designation. A width of 2 inches is for general officers, and 1 1/8 inches marks non-commissioned officers.

Some have attributed the stripe as a symbol to honor fallen Marines from the Battle of Chapultepec in 1847, but the origin extends earlier than that.

These USMC uniform blood stripes are made with superior stitching for durability and presentability. They are part of a wide collection of uniform components we carry.
