COVERED IN GLORY

COVERED IN GLORY

<p - and most wore their Army Blues. I got a Semper Fi from a formerly-active Marine who’s now in the Guard. At one point a Major came over to me, introduced himself and asked what rank I was. After my explanation, he asked if I could come over to meet his wife so she could see my Purple Heart. Ha! I’ve never had a request like that before – especially from a Major. Much later, the wife of another (different) Major blurted out in the middle of our conversation with a Sgt Major and his wife, “Well, I don’t care what anybody says, the Marines have the best uniforms.” With drink in hand I thanked her and tried to look humble and gracious. Then the two wives went down the list of all the times they saw Marines in Dress Blues. Damn! Yes, I was definitely covered in glory. Well, that’s enough BS for now. 🙂 OOH-RAH!
