I wrote this last year when my son and his brother marines could be home for Christmas, this year they are in Al Qiam.

There’s a lotta Christmas songs out there, but not too many Marine songs, so I wrote a song for all those nice Marines out there.

Devil Dogs are the United States Marines.
Instead of partying in college we get trained on M16’s.
So when you feel like the only kids in town protecting the American Dream,
here’s a list of people who wear the high and tight, just like you and me:

So did Ted Williams, Steve McQueen and the drummer Buddy Rich.

Guess who eats together at the mess hall in camp Lejune?

Phil Caputo who wrote Platoon and the guy who wrote Jarhead too.
Ted Williams who played baseball and his fellow MBL buddy Rod Carew!

We got the D.C. Sniper and F Lee Bailey too.

Kiki Camarena, the famous DEA guy
wore the eagle globe and anchor just like you and I!!!!

So many famous people wore dress blues
The Everly Brothers wore them and George Jones did too!
(They’re musicians)
