Harry, glad to see you post, I was getting worried you haven’t post anything for awhile. I like how this comes up on my screen it’s bigger and easier to read. G. Willard….I had my fill of a Navy DMD at Camp Schwab, Okinawa in the spring of 1967 when we went on a cruise to get our gear surveyed and/or repaired. We were then to go on a float off the Vietnam coast as a “reinforcement force” if and when needed. As usual, in the Marine Corps, things don’t always seem to go as planned. So, all hell broke loose near the DMZ and 30 days later we were flown back to NAM aboard C-130’s. Anyway…while on Okinawa I went to sickbay to have a tooth filling replaced that had come out. Someone must have licked all the sugar off of the dentist’s lollipop that morning. Because the Navy dentist that saw me looked at my tooth that needed a filling and then pulled three jaw teeth in a row that were not and never had given me any problems. Afterwards, I gave him a few choice Marine words and went back to the barracks. It took that day and 2 more before I was back on regular duty. All I could eat during that time was melted ice cream my buddies brought me from the mess hall and that was through a straw since I couldn’t move my jaw enough to chew. I never saw, nor wanted to see, a Navy dentist after that. …….Bob Mauney 1381.

Yes I knew he was probably using DMD as an acronym for “Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry”, since the only other common use for that acronym is “Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy”. To me it was a pretentious foreword to justify blatantly insinuating that Marines Deuce and Dennis were lacking the “…intellect to create suggestions…”.
